Who is Dr. Sanguedolce’s medical background?
Dr. Sanguedolce trained at NYU and served as Chief Resident at Stony Brook Southampton, where he earned Resident of the Year during the COVID-19 pandemic. Now based in Laguna Beach, he focuses on longevity-based care to help individuals and families thrive.
Why is there a membership fee?
Dolce MD is designed to allow Dr. Sanguedolce to focus on high-quality, personalized care with a reduced patient load. This allows more time for each patient. The membership fee covers non-medical services and is not covered by most health insurance plans.
Can I still use my insurance?
We accept PPO, Medicare, and most EPO plans. Office visits and procedures are billed through your health insurance. Co-pays, deductibles, and other out-of-pocket costs apply based on your plan. Please contact us to confirm your insurance eligibility.
Do you accept HMO?
Dolce MD doesn’t accept HMO plans, but we accept cash for visits and in-office labs. Check with our staff to confirm your plan’s coverage. Consider switching to a PPO or EPO plan during our yearly open enrollment for better access to our services.
How is concierge medicine different from direct primary care?
Both offer personalized care with fewer patients per doctor. Concierge medicine includes extra benefits like 24/7 access, longer visits, and added benefits for a membership fee. It focuses on building a strong physician–patient relationship with an emphasis on prevention and wellness.
Can I track my fitness progress with each visit?
Your fitness progress is tracked through body composition analysis at each visit. This helps your concierge doctors monitor changes over time and adjust your wellness plan as needed.
